Spring is a great time to get out and about in western Iowa. As the weather warms flowers burst into bloom and native animals come out of their winter hiding places. March through June is a never ending parade of new sights and sounds in Iowa’s native spaces and one of the best ways to experience the magic of spring is to get outside and live in the sunshine. Hit the trails at your nearest Pottawattamie County Park and see what spring has to offer you. But you don’t have to be content to just walk in nature, become a part of it with a spring scavenger hunt! This is a great way to get young learners involved with nature as they spend time outdoors. Make it a whole family activity and work as a team to search for the next item on your list.
