Senior Learners

Hitchcock Nature Center - Area seniors are invited to join us for a special program on Iowa's native turtles at Hitchcock Nature Center. Bring your lunch and learn more about one of Iowa's favorite cold-blooded residents with help from a Pottawattamie County Conservation Naturalist.

This program will be held Wednesday, May 31st from noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Loess Hills Lodge at Hitchcock Nature Center. Our gift shop, exhibit gallery & observation deck will be open before and after this program so make sure and allow extra time to explore all we have to offer at Hitchcock Nature Center.

The OWLS - Older, Wiser Learning Seniors, is a new partnership with The Center in Council Bluffs & is designed for senior learners with an interest in environmental science and conservation topics. Programs are presented by PCCB Naturalists and are held at the Center in Council Bluffs or at the Loess Hills Lodge at Hitchcock Nature Center.

These programs are presented free of charge, free will donations are appreciated. Attendees to the monthly program at The Center do not need to be facility members. Attendees to the monthly program at Hitchcock Nature Center will either need to purchase a $2.00 per vehicle daily entrance pass or have a valid Pottawattamie County Parks annual permit. Daily passes may be purchased with cash or check at the front entrance on the day of the event. Annual permits may be purchased for $10.00 from staff at any of our parks or at the Loess Hills Lodge at Hitchcock Nature Center during regular business hours.
