Community Groups - Programming provided for groups of all types and ages
Presentations and nature learning opportunities provided for Pottawattamie County and surrounding-area community groups offered off site or at any of the Pottawattamie County Parks.



Pottawattamie County Conservation offers nature learning opportunities for groups of all types and ages. Whether you’re a daycare offering outdoor exploration and extracurricular activities, an assisted living home seeking some fresh air, or a scout group looking to earn a new badge or explore new terrain, Pottawattamie County Conservation programs are a great resource for your group and provide engaging opportunities to learn more about the natural world.

On-site programs operate like field trips and encourage outdoor exploration and hands-on nature activities. These programs explore a variety of themes that can be tailored to fit group needs, size, age, and experience levels. Programs are offered at any of the Pottawattamie County parks. Depending on the location, these programs may include both indoor and outdoor activities.

Previous on-site programs have been offered to the following types of community groups: 

            -Daycares and Early Learning Centers
            -Adventure or Outdoor Groups
            -Special Interest Groups (i.e. Gardening or Birding)
            -Home School Groups
            -Girl Scout and Boy Scout Troops
            -Professional Groups
            -Church and Youth Groups
            -Assisted Living Groups

Pottawattamie County Conservation also offers outreach programs available off-site and at a venue that is most convenient for your group. These programs explore a variety of nature themes and can also be tailored of it your group’s interests and needs.

Off-site programs have been offered for the following types of community groups:

            -Daycares and Early Learning Centers
            -Libraries and Community Centers 
            -Civic Groups, such as Kiwanis, Optimist and Rotary Clubs
            -Church and Youth Groups

Current program rates include a general program and individual fee. There is no minimum for the number of programs that may be presented. A minimum of 10 participants is required for all field trips.

PCCB Program Fees for Pottawattamie County schools and groups:
$1 per child +
$10 per program for a group of 10-25
$15 per program for a group total of 26-50
$25 per program for a group total of 51+

PCCB Program Fees for Non-Pottawattamie County schools and groups:
$1 per child +
$20 per program for a group of 10-25
$25 per program for a group total of 26-50
$35 per program for a group total of 51+
