To Register at the RV or Tent Campground
Please follow the signs to the campground located at the north end of the park. Proceed to the pay kiosk in the upper loop of the campground near the campground office for instructions & a pay envelope. Select your campsite & complete your registration. Remove the tag from the envelope & place on the campsite post if RV camping or on the dashboard of your vehicle if you are tent camping. Deposit your payment & registration envelope in the pay kiosk.
Payment by cash or check is accepted using the pay kiosk, to pay by credit card please visit our park ranger or campground host.
PLEASE NOTE - Backcountry campsites are PRIMITIVE & do not include access to modern amenities including drinking water or restrooms. Campers are responsible for carrying in their own supplies, including drinking water, & the disposal of all human waste. Please bury human waste away from the established campsite and no less than 200 yds from water. ALL TRASH MUST BE CARRIED OUT WHEN YOU VACATE THE CAMPSITE.

To Reserve a Camping Cabin
Cabins may also be reserved by calling the campground office at 712-545-3283 ext. 5833 or by emailing our park ranger, Chad Kunze. Please indicate the rental dates you are wishing to reserve in the comments section of the email form. Reservations must be received and confirmed by the park ranger at least 48 hours in advance. Reservations received & confirmed less than 48 hours in advance will be accommodated at the discretion of the park ranger. Note: this email request does not guarantee cabin reservations. A park ranger will contact you with further information & confirmation.
Cabin & Backcountry Campsite Reservation Cancellation Policy
PLEASE NOTE: The Hitchcock Nature Center campground and cabins are open year-round but the water in the campground is turned off and the RV dumpstation is closed during the winter months. Primitive restrooms are available for use in the campground. Please plan your visit accordingly. We recommend contacting the campground office directly to confirm water availability before reserving a cabin between October 15th and April 15th. No refunds will be granted for reservations cancelled due to lack of water.
