11/13/2012 - Council Bluffs Nonpareil - Raptors soar at Hitchcock
Raptors keep bird, mice, rabbit and other varmint populations down. But the majestic birds usually steer clear of small dogs or cats. So rest easy, pet owners.  This was among the information members of Raptor Recovery Nebraska imparted on attendees at the annual Hitchcock Nature Center Eagle Migration event on Saturday.

Iowa's Spirit - Hawk Watchers: Eyes in the sky
 They brave harsh weather and high winds just to get a glimpse of a bird. They're hawk watchers and their job is to count and document the birds. Iowa Spirits Daniel Johnson has more from the Hitchcock Nature Centers Observation Tower.

Iowa's Spirit - Monarch Tagging at Hitchcock Nature Center 2012
Participants at the 2012 Monarch Tagging event at Hitchcock Nature Center learned about the enchanting world of Monarchs and their migration to Mexico before learning how to properly catch, tag and release Monarchs.

The Hitchcock Nature Center in Honey Creek Iowa holds a program called "Kindernature". Kindernature teaches pre-schoolers about everything from bugs to fish.
