6/13/2013 - Celebrate Iowa Museum Week June 9th through 16th
Help us celebrate the first ever Iowa Museum Week with a visit to Hitchcock Nature Center. 
6/13/2013 - Hitchcock Nature Center: Hitch Hike
Take a guided hike through the Loess Hills to learn more about the plants, animals and history of the prairie.  COme out Tuesday, June 18th at 7 p.m. for the second hike in the Hitch Hike series. 
6/13/2013 - Ecological Immersion Program: Summer Birds & Wildflowers
The Ecological Immersion Program (EIP) is a new series offered in partnership with Pottawattamie County Conservaion and New Tree School.  This session will be led by Master Birder Jerry Toll, Natural Resources Specialist Chad Graeve, and Eric Scholar.  This session will be held June 22nd from 8:30 to noon. 
5/30/2013 - KinderNature: Spacious Skies
What do you see when you look at the sky?  Bring the little ones to Hitchcock Nature Center on Sunday, June 9th to explore shapes, changing moons, and jump in the sunshine as we create constellations and discover the zoo in the sky. 
5/8/2013 - Ecological Immersion Program: Lepidopterans & Spring Birding By Ear
The Ecological Immersion Program (EIP) is a new series offered in partnership with Pottawattamie County Conservaion and New Tree School.  This session will be led by Dr. Ted Burke of Creighton University and Master Birder Jerry Toll Saturday May 25th from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Expect to see new features this summer at Botna Bend Park as we begin work on multiple projects to improve the visitor experience.
4/18/2013 - Hitchcock Nature Center Still Accepting Summer Nature Camp Registrations
Fill your summer days with exploartion and excitement in the great outdoors.  Registration for the 2013 Pottawattamie Conservation Summer Nature Camps began Monday, March 25th and we still have space available in many camps!
11/9/2012 - KinderNature: Talking Turkey
Bring little ones to Hitchcock Nature Center’s Talking Turkey program on Sunday, November 4th at 1:30 p.m. to meet Tom Turkey. Examine turkey feathers, eggs, and tracks, and listen for their calls on a hike through the woods.

Keep your eyes to the skies in search of soaring bald eagles at Hitchcock Nature Center’s Annual Eagle Migration Event on November 10th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
11/9/2012 - HNC HawkWatch Celebrates 20 Years
Hitchcock Nature Center celebrates 20 years of Hawkwatching and raptor research. What began as a trial hawkwatch in 1992 by Loren and Babs Padelford has grown to become one of the top 25 Hawkwatches in North America and one of four sites in the world that counts more than 500 bald eagles annually.
